Metatissue products will help in developing multimaterial 3D scaffolds with exceptional biofunctionality to induce tissue-specific regeneration of such anatomical structures as part of the Interlynk Project.
The InterLynk Project led by the University of Aveiro and involving Metatissue, INEGI, Envisiontec, Maastricht University, the Medical University of Berlin – Charité, Kuros Biosciences and Promoscience will run in 4 years with a total budget of €6M.
InterLynk partners will develop a portfolio of biomaterials-based inks, all based on an innovative, highly bioactivity and biocompatible matrix made of human plasma-derivative platelet lysates, that can be patient-specific. The most advanced technologies will be engineered to develop 3D bioprinting processes able to combine different biomaterials in a single scaffold, with spatially control of their organization and distribution. Such will enable the fabrication of multimaterial 3D scaffolds mimicking the microenvironment interfaces needed to promote the regeneration of different tissues like bone, cartilage, ligament and tendon.
The kickoff meeting of the UroPrint project has taken place today.
The first InterLynk progress meeting brought together again the consortium members.
